Jugglers Canyon

Jugglers Canyon

Jugglers is another brilliant beginner canyon. It isn’t a deep or narrow slot canyon, but it is a great spot to practice anchor skills and for training. I have been through Jugglers a few times now, the first time with friends and the second time during an Advanced Canyon Course run by the Australian School of Mountaineering located in Katoomba.

Smiles all round! On the trip we wanted to go through Grand Canyon at night to see the glow worms, so we started Jugglers pretty late to line up the timing of night with Grand.

It is really more of a series of waterfall abseils, but still very fun and I know its a favourite for a lot of canyoning locals.

Plenty of obstacles to navigate along the way!

One of my favourite abseils in this canyon is the one at the very end, its the biggest by far and you get to abseil over and overhang, hanging in the air the rest of the way down! Shortly after this abseil you join back onto the main tourist track for the hike out (or down to Grand for more canyoning hehe)

I’m Rach!

Welcome to Rachmartee, my personal collection of adventures through-out Australia over the years. Here, I invite you to join me, my friends or my pups on a journey of mishaps, bush bashes, lesser known trails, heartfelt stories and epic scenery!

I have lived and grown up within the ACT and rural NSW my whole life. Getting outside fills my heart with joy and wonder, it calms my nerves, helps me feel grounded and helps me feel connected to this world. I hope these stories and adventures will be an archive collection I can reflect back on for many years, for my family to see what I am getting up to on all these crazy trips and for my children to one day see the crazy and wild things that shaped who their mother is.
